The "Fat Cat" is 38' x 16' with a 420 HP 3126 Caterpillar Engine

Hailing Port for the "Fat Cat" is Tarpon Springs, FL

The "Fat Cat" is commercially outfitted for Grouper & Red Snapper fishing

Fishing Vessel Fat Cat is a commerically outfitted vessel with a charter boat charm. The vessel can fish anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico in almost any weather. The Fat Cat is named for the hull design "Cat Limbo" and "Fat" derives from the exterior white beam which makes for a uniquely comfortable ride.

The vessel is outfitted to fish for red, black, scamp, yelloedge, and gag grouper along with other bottom dwelling fish which also include red snapper. This is done using all modern fishing equipment and at least 100 years of Gulf of Mexico fishing experience among the operators.

The Fat Cat's hailing port is Tarpon Springs, Florida, located on the Anclote River. This is an old Greek sponge diving and fishing village. Tarpon Springs is widely known as the "Sponge Diving Capital of the World."

When not fishing commerically, you might see the boat out diving or fishing with a group of friends out near Anclote Island.

The Fat Cat will be available for charter soon but will only fish on offshore overnight trips due to its cruising speed of 10 knots. The vessel is powered by a 3126 Caterpillar engine but with all the fuel, water, ice and personnel, 10 knots is a safe and economical speed. It won't get you there fast but it will get you there and back safely. We can stay out on the water as long as you want.

Outdoor shower, live bait well, electric motor fishing reels, large fish boxes, loud stereo, all stainless hardware, sun deck, canvas covered stern, 5 comfortable bunks, and all VSCG approval life saving equipment are just some of the amenities available on the Fat Cat.

Don't want to fail to mention the goofy, outrageous, obnoxious, and sometimes professional personnel that keep this boat going. My personal thanks to all of my friends, family, Cox Seafood, and Jack Page, who helped me put this boat together.
